HEY FRIENDS

My name is Beau Lunceford.

I’m a storyteller, speaker, podcaster, kid and family minster, enneagram enthusiast, and fun seeker just trying to make a difference in the lives of others.

But you're here to find out more about me, right?

MY STORY

I worked in Kid’s and Family Ministry for 12 years and I LOVED it! There was nothing better than getting to share a story on stage, speak to a room full of families looking for answers, or investing in a team of leaders. In my years speaking, I’ve been fortunate to speak to audiences all over the southeast. I’ve spoken to teams of 5 and audiences in the hundreds. There was nothing more valuable to me than speaking, sharing, and investing in others through my work.

But I had no hobbies, no personal ambitions, or priorities outside of my work though. Nothing was more fulfilling or more important than the work the ministries I was a part of, right? A blinding symptom of burnout-to-come...

Then *dramatic music* the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic hit. And the shadow of burnout that I was ignoring and fighting consumed me. It was difficult, but I knew I needed to step away for a season. So, I packed up and moved from small-town, middle Georgia to Atlanta to work a “boring”, emotionally-unattached, 9-to-5 job.

As I slipped into the docile world of insurance, I started exploring what my hobbies were, where my joy came from, and how I could use my new work-life balance to take care of myself better. But I was missing something. I missed sharing my story and influencing the next generation of leaders.

After a few months, I realized my story could still be useful even though it wasn’t from behind a pulpit. I had burned out. In spite of all the warning and encouragement I had received over the years, burnout still found me. I prided myself on being a bright, positive, person, but the darkness still consumed me. Surely there were other people out there who could learn from my mistake and grow from my experience.

With a bright light in mind, the Shine Brighter podcast was born and a speaking career began with the help of The Speaker Lab experts and friends alike. Today, I strive to help audiences and teams recognize the looming darkness of burnout, but more importantly, how to burn brighter than the darkness that surrounds us.

LET'S HAVE FUN

Burnout sounds like the most UN-FUN topic EVER, right? It’s definitely not anyone’s favorite thing to think about, but without shedding light on it, how can we avoid it? So let’s make it a party! Every party needs lights- so let’s shine bright!

We also have a lot of fun every month over on the Shine Brighter podcast. I’m not the boss of you or anything, but you should check it out...
